Lately . . .

So, the post-holiday season was just as busy for us as the pre-holiday season.  Through that time Sophia has been growing and changing so rapidly, I have had a hard time keeping up.  She started trying to crawl a few weeks ago, and it has turned into this crawl/drag that resembles the breast stroke done on carpet.  She also gets up on her knees and can go a few steps that way, but seems to think the dragging motion is more efficient at the moment.  She tries to pull up on things, and she can get up onto her knees pretty well, but we haven’t seen her go to her feet on her own.  However, if she wants to be standing, she will drag herself over to me and climb up me into a standing position.  She loves that.  She also likes to be “walked” around the house, and can really kick her feet out in the direction she wants to go.  She has also learned to sit up on her own, which has made naptime more of a challenge, cause if she doesn’t feel tired (or just doesn’t want to nap!), she will just sit up and throw things out of the crib (like her pacifier) and then cry when she cannot find it.  We have her eating 3 meals a day, mostly because now that she knows baby food is an option, other than snack time, she really doesn’t want a bottle.  If she sees us eating she gets pretty fussy if she is not included.  We have discovered the wonder that is animal crackers, because I can give her one or two of those to eat while we eat our meal, then feed her without too much upset.  She got a piano for Christmas, and she loves it.  She will play and sing and she has a great time.  The other day she was playing and singing along to Mamma Mia!, which I had on in the background.  She started Mother’s Day Out at a local church on Tuesdays and Thursdays while I am in class, and after the first disastrous day, she has done wonderfully.  I think she is really starting to enjoy having some time away from me, and seeing other babies and getting to interact with them.  I was really worried at first that she would not handle being away from me well, but she does great.  Well, here are pics of her from the past few weeks:

When I learned to crawl I went backwards…Talk about not efficient. I would get stuck under things and start crying.
