Girl Talk Concert
So last night Andy and I went to see Girl Talk at the Palladium Ballroom and it was awesome. Girl Talk is the stage name of Gregg Gillis, who, for lack of a better term, mixes. I would classify what he does, though, more as art than simply a DJ mixing together a song or two. His music defines the artistic style of pastiche. The concert was incredible, minus the first band, Hearts of Darknessess [sec], who were a little too artistic for the Dallas crowd. The second opening band, Grand Buffett, two white rappers, were surprisingly good. The best part, however, was of course Girl Talk, and all that a Girl Talk concert is. Because Gillis mixes on stage, live, with his computer, he does not take up alot of space. So he invites his fans up onto the stage with him. Andy and I spent almost 2 hours on stage, dancing like maniacs to the incredible music Gillis created. We had such an amazing time. Here are some pics:
